Windies Names Upcoming 3-match T20 international Squad — Chris Gayle Out!

The Tale Of Burnham, Lloyd, And WI Cricket CaptaincyAccording to a report, three members of the Jamaica Tallawahs winning Caribbean Premier League team including all-rounder Rovman Powell have been called up to the West Indies squad for their upcoming 3-match T20 international series against Pakistan.

The report noted however that talismanic opener Chris Gayle has not made himself available for the tour.

It also indicated that opener Chadwick Walton and all-rounder Andre Russell are the two other members of the winning Jamaica Tallawahs team to have been included in the West Indies 15-man t20 squad.

Furthermore, it stated that Jamaican Jerome Taylor who retired from test cricket earlier this summer also makes his international return while 20-year-old trinidadian nicholas pooran has also earned a call-up.

Chris Gayle has made himself unavailable while Lendl Simmons is out for medical reasons. The squad which will be led by newly appointed captain Carlos Brathwaite also includes Marlon Samuels, Johnson Charles, Samuel Badree, Dwayne Bravo, Andre Fletcher, Jason Holder, Evin Lewis, Sunil Narine and Kieron Pollard, according to the report.

The West Indies tour will start with a 3-match T20 series on September 23 and will be followed by a 3-match One Day International series which begins on September 30.

The two teams will then engage in a 3-match test series beginning on October 13.

Meanwhile, pacer Alzarri Joseph, and batsmen Evin Lewis and Kraigg Brathwaite are the new comers to the 15-man One Day International squad for the series which begins on September 30.

The squad is completed by captain Jason Holder, Sulieman Benn, Carlos Brathwaite, Darren Bravo, Jonathon Carter, Johnson Charles, Shannon Gabriel, Sunil Narine, Ashley Nurse, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin and Marlon Samuels. The test squad will be named in the coming days
