WHO Head Warns “It’s Better To Be Careful”

The World Health Organization (WHO)has warned that although the acute phase of the COVID-19 pandemic is petering out, countries must maintain mask mandates and other public health protocols.

The WHO noted that if the world achieves a vaccination rate of 70 percent by this July, it will diminish the chance of any new variant emerging.

WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus told reporters that mandates should continue while he understands the general apathy toward masks.

Dr. Tedros argued that mask mandates and other measures like sanitization “can only benefit” countries.

“I don’t think we need to have a deadline to be honest…. Even after the acute phase is gone, it’s better to be careful,” he posited.
