Jeffrey Preston Bezos, born January 12, 1964, is reputed to be the richest person in the world. He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico and raised in Houston, Texas.

He is one of America’s leading technology entrepreneurs.

This renown investor, philanthropist, founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of Amazon and the world’s largest online retailer is a man on a mission to change business models and wake up business sectors.

He graduated from Princeton University in 1986 with degrees in electrical engineering and computer science.

He worked on Wall Street in a variety of related fields from 1986 to early 1994.

He later founded Amazon in 1994 while on a cross-country road trip from New York City to Seattle.

He began Amazon as an online bookstore and has expanded to a variety of products and services, including video and audio streaming.

It is currently the world’s largest Internet sales online company as well as the world’s largest provider of cloud infrastructure services via its Amazon Web Services arm.

Business entrepreneurs would do well to heed the following utterance by Bezos:

A brand for a company is like a reputation for a person. You earn reputation by trying to do hard things well.

If you do build a great experience, customers tell each other about that. Word of mouth is very powerful.

There are two kinds of companies; those that work to try to charge more, and those that work to charge less. We will be the second.
