West Indies Whip India To Take One Nil Lead In T20I Series

West Indies bowlers Jason Holder, Romario Shepherd, and Obed McCoy shared six wickets as they earned a superb victory by four runs over India on Thursday.

It was the perfect start to the Kuhl Stylish Fans T20I Series powered by Black and White for the home team as they build towards the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Holder claimed 2-19, Shepherd had 2-33, while McCoy grabbed 2-28 to mark a successful return to the team.

They helped to restrict India to 145-9 off 20 overs after West Indies batted first and made 149-6 off their 20 overs on a good pitch at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

Earlier, West Indies won the toss and opted to bat, and were made to battle hard to post the challenging total.

Skipper Rovman Powell (48) shared 38-run partnerships with Nicholas Pooran (41) and Shimron Hetmyer (10). Left-arm seamer Arshdeep Singh pitched in with two wickets for the visitors.

The two teams will now travel to Guyana for the second and third match at the Guyana National Stadium on Sunday 6 August and Tuesday 8 August.
