West Indies Splutters In Encounter With South Africa

The West Indies took a thrashing in their 139 run loss to South Africa in the current tri-nation cricket series being played in the Caribbean.

Chasing 344 for victory, the Windies were all out for 204 in 38 overs.

cricket ball & batThe West Indies had no answer to the bowling of South Africa’s Imran Tahir who shredded  batting order, starting with Andre Fletcher to end with 7-45. Johnson Charles offered most resistance to top-score with 49.

Marlon Samuels made 24 and Kieron Pollard 20, while Sunil Narine ended unbeaten on 18. The West Indies bowlers had been put to the sword earlier as South Africa racked up 343-4 with 110 from Hashim Amla.

Quinton de Kock and Faf du Plessis made half centuries against Pollard 2-64 while there was a wicket each for Jerome Taylor and Carlos Brathwaite.
