West Indies batsmen showed heat in their warmup game ahead of the Betway T20 International Series against England.
The team thrashed the BCA President’s XI in their practice match game.
The BCA President’s XI batted first, putting on the board 131-6 off their 20 overs.
However, the target was revised to 160 off 20 overs, and West Indies reached 165-3 off 18.3 overs to win by seven wickets.
The frontline batsmen did not disappoint as they rattled off the score, losing a mere three wickets.
Kyle Mayers showed his potency upfront with a six, setting a solid foundation as he added 62 in 4.5 overs for the first wicket with Brandon King.
The highly touted left-hander made 38 off 32 balls, while the Jamaican King blasted 32 off 13 balls with two sixes and four fours to all areas of the ground.
King, however, was soon caught in the deep by Kadeem Alleyne, off Roshon Primus.
Nicholas Pooran, who came in next, showed fine form hitting a breezy 27 off 21 balls with two sixes.
Mayers followed soon after as he was bowled by off-spinner Ashley Nurse – going after a full-length deliver through the off-side.
Roston Chase then joined Darren Bravo, and the pair added an unbroken stand of 54 for the fourth wicket.
Bravo showed class and character at the wicket, hitting 32 not out off 27 balls, while the out of form Chase hit a huge 6 to end the match with a well-made 23 not out to his name.
