West Indies ‘A’ recorded a brilliant victory over Bangladesh ‘A’ by three wickets in the second “Test” at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium 2 on Friday, to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Captain Joshua Da Silva played a captain’s knock of 48 not out to lead the team to victory in the final session of the final day as they made 191-7. This followed up his 47 not out in the first innings.
He shared a crucial partnership with allrounder Akeem Jordan, who made 22 not out. This came after Brandon King made a stroke-filled 54 off 78 balls with six fours and two sixes.
Earlier in the day, off spinner Kevin Sinclair took 5-79 from 26 overs as the visitors took the last four wickets in the first hour of play — as the home side were bowled out for 297 — to set a target of 190.
The first match ended in a draw last week. The third and final match will be at the Sylhet International Stadium, starting on Tuesday 30 May.
