The University of the West Indies, Mona campus has reported a net loss of $1.53 billion during the academic year 2019/2020.
That’s $115 million less than the previous year.
In its audited financial statement, the UWI cited funding challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic, which resulted in a decline in enrollment and operations at the university.
The UWI is looking at the implementation of vaccines to boost revenues and increase student enrolment for the upcoming academic year.
