A record 4.5 million workers in the United States quit their jobs in March.

According to new data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, resignations from people in the professional and business services sector, as well as construction increased significantly last month.

The overall exit rate moved up to three percent, a level not seen since December 2021.
