U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris on her recent trip to Guatemala has warned Guatemalans not to try to enter the United States illegally.
Ms. Harris was making her first trip outside the country since becoming Vice President.
She warned locals that making the trip to the U.S. border is not only dangerous but is also futile as they would be turned back at the border.
Vice President Harris is tasked with the responsibility of solving the crisis at the southern border.
More than 178,000 migrants arrived at the border this April, the highest one-month total in more than two decades, according to U.S. border officials.
