EWAN Simpson, chairman of the Jamaica Reggae Industry Association (JaRIA), says locals show little to no support for awards shows.

His statement comes amidst heated debate which sees several locals accusing The Recording Academy for snubbing Jamaicans and giving American reggae group SOJA the Grammy for Best Reggae Album at the recently concluded show in Las Vegas.

Saudi, Kuwait To Develop Gas Field Despite Iran Condemnation

Tehran in late March said the deal contravened ‘previously held negotiations’, adding it ‘reserves its right to exploit’ the field.

Saudi Arabia and Kuwait will develop a disputed gas field despite Iranian objections while urging Tehran to engage in negotiations.

The Gulf allies will honor their deal – branded “illegal” by Iran – to develop the Arash/Dorra maritime gas field, the Saudi foreign ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

Mask Mandates Extended Two Weeks For Airline Passengers, Transit Users

Airline passengers and users of mass transit in the U.S. will be required to wear masks for at least 15 days beyond April 18, when current mask requirements were set to expire.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Wednesday announced the extension to May 3, saying it was needed to assess a recent uptick in cases caused by the BA.2 omicron subvariant.
