PM Says Work Completed To Protect Cockpit Country
PRIME Minister Andrew Holness last Thursday listed a number of new projects which have led to “significant progress” in advancing the protection of the Cockpit Country Protected Area (CCPA).
The prime minister told the House of Representatives in his budget presentation that he was proud to advise members that the work to declare 78,024 hectares of the Cockpit Country a protected area has been completed.

China To Provide Additional $1.6m Of Humanitarian Aid To Ukraine
China will provide an additional 10 million yuan (roughly $1.6 million) of humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin announced on Monday.
Wang said at a daily press briefing that the new aid package was based on the development of the situation and the needs of Ukraine.
“China pays close attention to the civilian casualties in the Russia-Ukraine conflict,” Wang said, noting that the top priority for the international community now is to deal with a possible large-scale humanitarian crisis.
