WASHINGTON, United States — One of Jamaica’s highways is to be named in honor of the renowned singer, actor, and civil rights activist of Jamaican heritage, Harry Belafonte.
Prime Minister Andrew Holness made the announcement in a message to mark Belafonte’s 95th birthday anniversary on March 1.

China will not join the financial sanctions against Russia, the country’s banking and insurance regulator said on Wednesday.
China does not support financial sanctions, especially unilateral sanctions, Guo Shuqing, chairman of the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, said at a press conference in Beijing, noting that unilateral sanctions cannot effectively address the problems and they lack legal grounds.
