Top 10 Best Beaches In The Caribbean

The Caribbean region with its all-year tropical sunshine, crystal-clear waters, and white sand boasts some of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

The breathtaking scenery, friendly locals, and rich Caribbean cuisine add to making the caribbean a destination of choice by tourists from all over the world.

In fact, any attempt to select the top 10 best beaches in the Caribbean is bound to end in controversy as there are so many to choose from. Notwithstanding, here is the Readers Bureau’s top 10 list.

1)  Les Salines

This is one of the best beaches found not only in Martinique but also in the Caribbean. The white sand beach is surrounded by tall swaying palm trees. It is popular with both locals and tourists.

2)  Varadero

This idyllic beautiful white soft sand beach is found in Cuba. Its clear warm turquoise water  is shallow for miles and its gentle waves lend to lots of frolic and fun in the waters.

3)  Palm Island

This beach is located on the southern tip of St Vincent and the Grenadines, an idyllic archipelago of 32 tropical island and cays known for its stunning natural beauty and crystal- clear waters.

4)  Shoal Bay

It is said that you haven’t been to Anguilla if you missed out on going to Shoal Bay beach. The sparkling azure waters and pristine white soft sand stretches for miles. It is described as one of the prettiest beaches one will ever find in the world.

5)  Frenchman’s Cove

This beautiful beach with powdery white sand is nestled in a cove in the eastern end of Jamaica. It is one of the best beaches in the island. The beach is unique as there’s a river that merges directly into the sea, providing fresh cold water that mixes with the warmer water from the sea. It is also surrounded by rich vivid, lush green foliage and a wide array of trees.

6) Horseshoe Bay

Going to Bermuda? You can’t afford to miss this beach. Its soft pink sand, combined with the azure waters, and the green foliage makes it one of the most unique and picturesque beaches in the Caribbean.

7)  Trunk Bay

This beach is rated as one of the world’s most beautiful beaches by the National Geographic Society. It is located in St. John, the United States Virgin Islands. Trunk Bay sports clear warm waters, silky white coral sands, and an underwater snorkeling trail.

It is located along the south east coast of Barbados. Rated by Life styles of the Rich and Famous as “one of the ten best beaches in the world.” Its powdery soft pink sand, with crystal clear azure waters against a backdrop of swaying palm trees and jagged cliffs makes it a major attraction for tourists.

9)   White Bay

This is one of the most picture perfect beaches in the Caribbean. It is located in Jost Van Dyke, the smallest of the four main islands of the British Virgin Islands. It is surrounded by a lush green hillside and boasts a long stretch of white soft sand, calm, and turquoise waters.

10)   Seven Mile Beach

This is one of Jamaica’s best beaches. Described by visitors as, “an amazing escape,” “a slice of paradise”, “beautiful and gorgeous,” “7 miles of clear blue heaven” and others. It is the longest beach in the island covering a range of 7 miles. It is lined with various types of resorts as well having a number of designated areas for nude sunbathing. The beach boasts  shallow crystal clear warm water and beautiful white sand.
