The World Richest Man Elon Musk Donates $5.7 Billion To Charity

Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, donated more than 5 million shares of the electric-car maker last November, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The multi-billion-dollar philanthropic donation is one of the largest in history.

The filing did not disclose the name of the charity and showed an unidentified trust was involved in the transaction.

The Tesla CEO has built his fortune around manufacturing the Tesla electric-car brand, which is now much larger than Toyota Motor Corp.

With a $227.3 billion fortune, Musk is more than $47 billion richer than the world’s second-wealthiest person, Inc. founder Jeff Bezos, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
