Tesla reached a new sales record in the second quarter of 2023, with 466,140 vehicles sold worldwide, which, according to Elon Musk’s company, represents an increase of 83% compared to the same period in 2022.
Tesla’s vehicle production also increased to 479,700 vehicles in the second quarter of 2023, up from 440,808 vehicles in the previous quarter.
Tesla’s sales growth was partly driven by price cuts and U.S. federal credits that made its electric vehicles more affordable.
Earlier this year, Tesla boss Elon Musk said he believed pursuing higher sales, with lower profits, was the right choice for the company.
