Teenage Sensation “Whisper” Omitted From Reggae Boyz New Squad

Young rising star Reggae Boyz Dujuan “Whisper” Richards has been left out of the recently announced Reggae Boyz squad for their upcoming CONCACAF Nations League games against Haiti and Grenada.

Richards who signed for Chelsea in the summer scored in the Gold Cup for Jamaica and played in both of Jamaica’s most recent Nations League contests at home last month.

Richards’ grandmother is English and was eligible to represent England at international level.

In March 2023, Richards was called up to the Jamaica senior team for a friendly game against Trinidad and Tobago, with manager Heimir Hallgrimsson stating that he was “ready” to represent the nation, despite his young age.

He went on to make his debut in the match on 12 March.

In June 2023, Richards was named to the final squad for the 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup.

In Jamaica’s second match of the tournament against Trinidad and Tobago on June 28, he scored his first goal, netting the final tally in a 4-1 victory.

He became the youngest goal scorer for Jamaica in CONCACAF Gold Cup.
