Rihanna Set To Do Barbados Proud

Robyn Rihanna Fenty, the Barbadian-born singer, songwriter, actress, and businesswoman has now taken on the new role of that of an ambassador.

The ambassadorial role will see the pop star serving in the new capacity of promoting education, tourism, and investment.

The artist said she “couldn’t be more proud” after being named “ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary” recently.

“Every Barbadian is going to have to play their role in this current effort, and I’m ready and excited to take on the responsibility,” she said.

“I look forward to working with Prime Minister Mottley and her team to reimagine Barbados,” she added.

The 30-year-old singer boasts a record of success in the music industry such as winning 9 Grammy Awards, 12 Billboard Music Awards, 12 American Music Awards, 8 People’s Choice Awards, among others.

Born in Saint Michael in Barbados, she grew up in Bridgetown until being discovered as a teenager by an American record producer, who helped her break into the U.S. charts.

She has also enjoyed success as an actor and fashion designer.
