With the FIFA Women’s World Cup scheduled for Australia and New Zealand in 2023, Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz have been placed in Pot 3.
The draw, which is set for Auckland, New Zealand, on October 22, will see Jamaica in a pot along with Denmark, Switzerland, Ireland, Colombia, Argentina, Vietnam, and Costa Rica.
Therefore, it means that Jamaica will likely go up against one of the world’s number two, Sweden, France, England, Spain, and Germany, or the hosts Australia and New Zealand.
The draw will determine how the 29 qualified teams and three playoff tournament slot placeholders will be divided into eight groups of four for next year’s FIFA showpiece.
The playoff tournament will consist of three groups in order to determine the winners of the three remaining slots.
The Reggae Girlz are set to play Paraguay on November 10 at the Montego Bay Sports Complex and then at the National Stadium in Kingston on November 13.
