Reggae Boyz Book Semi-Final Place In CONCACAF Gold Cup

The Reggae Boyz have booked a place in the CONCACAF Gold Cup semifinals after a 1-0 win over Guatemala in Sunday’s quarter-final in Cincinnati, Ohio.

However, it did not come easy as the Boyz were pressed by the workmanlike performance of the Guatemalans, who kept them at bay nil-nil up to half-time.

Amari’i Bell had other ideas after the break with an early second-half goal, which proved enough to make the Jamaicans 1-0 better than their rival.

The Reggae Boyz will next turn their attention to the Mexicans in the semifinals on Wednesday at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mexico booked their place with a 2-0 win over Panama.

Meanwhile, defending champions The United States are also in the last four, where they will meet Panama.

The USA defeated Canada 3-2 on penalties after a 2-2- regulation and extra time draw, while Panama beat guest team Qatar 4-0.
