Edwin Allen High School puts the ‘R’ into Run by becoming the first high school girls team to tear up the record and set a new one running under 44 seconds in the 4×100 meters at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
It took Kasheika Cameron, Kevona Davis, Shellece Clarke and Patrice Moody 43.96 seconds to cover the distance, thus winning the Championship of the U.S. event on Friday’s second day of competition at the 123rd staging of the prestigious relays at Franklin Field Stadium in Philadelphia.
The girls’ quartet smashed the previous record of 44.32 seconds set by Vere Technical in 2004.
