Marquino Mindley, the 26-year-old Jamaica and West Indies right-arm, fast-medium pace bowler, was excluded from the recently announced Jamaica Scorpions 15-man squad for the Super50 tournament this year.
Last summer, Mindley was named one of eleven reserve players in the West Indies’ Test squad for their series against England.
All-rounder Rovman Powell and top-order batsman Andre McCarthy who are away on duty for the West Indies team in Bangladesh, have been included in the squad for the tournament that gets underway in Antigua next month.
Powell has been named captain and will join the squad after the One Day International leg of the West Indies tour of Bangladesh.
The 32-year-old Trelawny born right-arm medium pacer Derval Green will serve as vice-captain.
There are also two newcomers to the squad, former West Indies Under-19 player Jeavor Royal and Javelle Glenn.
The full squad includes Rovman Powell (Captain), Derval Green (Vice-captain), Aldaine Thomas, Oshane Thomas, Brandon King Paul Palmer, Fabian Allen, Jamie Merchant, Jeavor Royal, Odean Smith, Sheldon Cottrell, Dennis Bulli, Javelle Glenn, Romaine Morris, and Andre McCarthy.
