Melbourne CC has once again climbed to throne as kings of local cricket after a fighting 74-run win over St Thomas CA in the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) two-day Senior Cup final at Sabina Park.
Marvin Darlington grabbed 5-41, Gavon Brown 3-47 and Keno Wallace 2-12.
St Thomas CA a first-time finalist in the competition needed to score 230 for victory in two sessions to lay hold on the title.
However, the total proved a difficult task for the team from the East and they were soon bundled out for 156.
St. Thomas captain and former West Indies wicketkeeper Carlton Baugh Jr. fought valiantly but fell short of a well-deserved half-century as he was out for 48.
Devon Thomas 31 and Jamie Trenchfield 25 were the only two other notables among the runs for St. Thomas CA.
Nikita Miller claimed 4-54 for a match haul of 8-75 and Christopher Lamont 3-61 and a match haul of 8-99 for Melbourne to secure their 25th hold on the title.
