cricket ball & batDiscarded West Indies spinner Nikita Miller is set to lead Jamaica into battle in regional competitions this season.

The move is pending ratification of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) board which has a scheduled meeting on July 20.

The 34-year-old is one of the most capped players in the squad with 80 games and 403 wickets. Last season’s captain Paul Palmer Junior is expected to be his deputy.

The JCA board is also expected to ratify changes to the coaching panel with Junior Bennett to now assist Robert Samuels.

Bennett is understood to have been recommended to chair the JCA selection panel.
