McDonald’s Considering A $5 Meal Deal

McDonald’s is contemplating adding a $5 meal to its menu across the U.S. as a way to entice customers back into its restaurants.

The proposed $5 meal could include a choice of either a McChicken, a McDouble, or four-piece chicken nuggets, along with fries and a drink.

Leaders at McDonald’s corporate offices are currently in discussions with franchise owners about introducing this budget-friendly meal.

The move comes after McDonald’s executives reported slower growth in foot traffic at their restaurants, and some inflation-weary customers have been cutting back on fast-food dining due to rising prices.

McDonald’s CEO Chris Kempczinski emphasized the importance of affordability to convince customers to return, especially in the face of elevated prices in day-to-day spending.

While a $5 meal wouldn’t necessarily make McDonald’s a pioneer in the fast-food industry, it aims to cater to a broad customer base, including middle- and lower-income consumers.
