Jamaica’s COVID-19 Death Toll Now 778

Eight more COVID-19 related deaths have been recorded in Jamaica.

The death toll is now 778.

The victims comprise five residents of Kingston and St. Andrew and three from Westmoreland.

The Ministry of Health says the deaths occurred between February 23 and April 27.

Jamaica also confirmed 164 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday from 729 samples.

The overall case count has increased to 45,578.

The country’s positivity rate is now 20.8 per cent.

Active cases have increased by 72 to 23,409.

But hospitalizations have decreased to 204, of which 19 patients are critical.
