Briana Williams, the 17-year-old Jamaican female sprinter and the world age-15 record holder in the 100 meters and World Under-20 double sprint champion was in a no-nonsense mood over the past weekend.
Williams turned the heat up to claim victory on day two of the Carifta trials at the National Stadium to highlight the qualification.
She easily captured the 100-meter Under-20 title in a time of 11.67 seconds in a strong negative headwind to finish ahead of Utech’s Kemba Nelson in 11.87.
Williams is the youngest girl ever to win both the 100 meters and the 200 meters at the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships in Tampere.
