Jamaica — Tourist Arrival Set As 300,000 This Month

Jamaica is set to attract 300,000 visitors this month to attend various entertainment events.

According to the Jamaica Tourist Board, visitors’ arrival will result in earnings of approximately US$407 million.

The JTB says one of the most highly anticipated events that will contribute to this arrival boom is Reggae Sumfest, to be held in Montego Bay from July 16 to July 22.

It says by the end of the year, Jamaica is expected to show a full recovery in its annual tourism figures, with projections of 3.9 million arrivals and foreign exchange earnings of US$4.3 billion.

The country recorded 250,000 stopover arrivals last month.
