Jamaica Sees Increase In COVID-19 Hospitalization

There has been another increase in COVID-19 hospitalizations in Jamaica.

The Ministry of Health says 189 people are now admitted, up from 172 on Monday.

Twenty-one patients are severely ill, while four are in critical condition.

Additionally, 735 new COVID-19 cases were confirmed on Tuesday from 1,904 samples.

This resulted in a positivity rate of 34.3 percent.

The virus has also claimed four more lives in Jamaica, increasing the death toll to 2,483.

The deaths, which were reported in St. Catherine, occurred during the period from September 12 last year to January 2.

The Health Ministry is investigating two more deaths.
