Jamaica Sees Decline In COVID-19 Numbers

The Ministry of Health & Wellness is reporting that the number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 is on the decline.

Up to Saturday, there were 328 patients in hospital, down from 340 on Friday.

Forty-two of those patients are severely ill and 11 critically ill.

In its latest summary, the health authorities said 168 new cases were confirmed on Saturday from 2,595 samples, for a positivity rate of 14.8 percent.

One more death was also recorded, pushing the country’s total since the start of the pandemic to 2,739.
