According to the Statistical Institute of Jamaica, the country’s annual inflation as at September was 5.9 percent.
This is the second time since this year, that point-to-point inflation has fallen within the Bank of Jamaica’s 4 to 6 percent target range.
Director General of the Statistical Institute of Jamaica Carol Coy says the results were linked mainly to the performance of the Food and Non-Alcoholic beverages division.
Meanwhile, the unemployment rate was 4.5 percent in July.
This was 2.1 percentage points lower than the 6.6 per cent in July 2022.
