A student from a Corporate Area high school in in Jamaica was arrested and charged on Thursday after he was allegedly found carrying a firearm in his bags by cops.

According to a press report, the student’s knapsack was searched about 8:30 am and one Ruger 9mm pistol and a magazine containing twelve 9mm rounds of ammunition were found, the police stated.

The student has been charged with illegal possession of firearm and is slated to appear in the Corporate Area Gun Court.
