Jamaica: 204 New COVID-19 Cases As 15 More People Die

The Ministry of Health on Thursday reported 15 more deaths from COVID-19 in Jamaica.

The deaths occurred between March 5 and April 5.

The number of people who have died from the virus has increased to 646.

Four of the deaths were in Kingston and St. Andrew, three in St. Thomas and two in Portland.

St. Catherine, St. Ann, St. Elizabeth, Hanover, Trelawny and Westmoreland each recorded one death.

Jamaica also recorded 204 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday from 659 samples.

The positivity rate is 19.6 per cent.

The country’s overall case count is now 41,604.

Hospitalizations from COVID-19 have also risen to 447 with 49 patients in critical condition.

The number of active cases has increased to 22,103.
