Blocks Users From Linking To Telegram And Snapchat
Facebook is in no mood to cozy up with direct or indirect competitors.
Consequently, two social networks, Snapchat and Telegram have found themselves being put on ignore from Facebook’s Instagram service.
According to TechCrunch.com, Instagram users who try to set their profile URL to link to either a Telegram or Snapchat page find themselves warned instead that “Links asking someone to add you on another service aren’t supported on Instagram.”
TechCrunch also reported that an IG spokesperson confirmed that it has “removed the ability to include ‘add me’ links” to profiles.”
It was “not the way [their] platform was intended to be used,” but that “other types of links are still allowed,” the spokesperson reportedly added.
