India Thrashes Windies In ODI Series

The West Indies had no answer to India in the deciding match of the ODI series, losing by 200 runs at the Brian Lara Stadium at Toruba in Trinidad and Tobago.

It was the West Indies’ second loss, going down 2-1 in the series.

India made a mammoth total of 351-5 after they were asked to bat first on a good batting wicket.

Ishan Kishan, 77, and Shubman Gill, 85, laid the foundation for the Indians with a 142-run opening partnership.

Hardik Pandya also contributed 70, Sanju Samson 51, and Suryakumar Yadav 35. Romario Shepherd took 2-73 for the Windies.

In their turn at the wicket, the Caribbean side suffered a quick setback and was at one stage 60-6 before eventually bowled out for 151 off 35.3 overs.

Young spinner Gudakesh Motie top-scored with 39 with some late-order hitting.

Alick Athanaze also made 32, as Shardul Thakur took 4-37 and Mukesh Kumar 3-30.

The teams will now turn their attention to the 5-match T20 international series starting on Thursday also at the Brian Lara Stadium.
