India Now The World’s Epicenter For COVID-19

India registered 78,357 new coronavirus cases over the past 24 hours, bringing its total to more than 3.7 million as the government eases pandemic restrictions nationwide to help the battered economy.

Additionally, the country has seen 66,333 people dying from the COVID-19 disease.

India, a nation of 1.4 billion people, is fast becoming the world’s coronavirus epicenter.

The country has been reporting the highest daily increases in new COVID-19 cases for more than three weeks.

Given the current rate, India is likely to pass Brazil soon, and ultimately the United States in total reported cases.

The first case of COVID-19 in India, which originated from China, was reported on 30 January 2020.

India currently has the largest number of confirmed cases in Asia and has the third-highest number of confirmed cases in the world after the United States and Brazil.
