In the northern hemisphere, summer extends over the months of June through August while in the southern hemisphere, people will experience summer in the months of December, January, and February.

Summer in the U.S. is commonly regarded as starting on Memorial Day weekend which is the last weekend in May and ending on Labor Day, the first weekend in September.

On the other hand, for example, summer in China begins in May and ends in the first week in August. In the Philippines, summer break covers the months of April and May.
