England 294 for 1 (Bairstow 141*, Roy 96) beat West Indies 288 for 6 (S Hope 72, Gayle 40) by nine wickets
The West Indies received a 4-0 shellacking from England’s cricket team after a nine-wicket loss in the final One Day International in Southampton on Friday.
Johnny Bairstow’s century of 141 and Jason Roy’s 96 put the Windies bowlers to the sword as they chase the Windies meager total of 288 without much bother.
Miguel Cummins was the only bowler to reap any success by taking the one Pommie’s wicket to fall.
Joe Root made an unbeaten 46.
Earlier, the West Indies posted 288-6 after being sent to bat. Shai Hope top-scored with 72 off 95 balls including 4 fours and one six, while Chris Gayle smashed 40 off 29 balls with 6 sixes and one four.
Ashley Nurse also put bat to ball by swatting 31 not out off 12 balls while debutant Sunil Ambris was left unbeaten on a well composed 38.
Marlon Samuels made 32 off 60 balls against Leon Plunkett 2-54.
