U.S. President Joe Biden has commended Congress for passing a nearly $40bn military and humanitarian assistance package for Kyiv, saying it sends “a clear bipartisan message to the world that the U.S. stands with Ukraine.”
However, some Republicans have argued that the U.S. currently has too many domestic issues to contend with and is currently not in a position to be doling out such a large sum of money to Ukraine.
Consequently, eleven Republican Senators voted against the aid package for Ukraine.
These include the following:
Marsha Blackburn (Tenn.)
John Boozman (Ark.)
Mike Braun (Ind.)
Mike Crapo (Idaho)
Bill Hagerty (Tenn.)
Josh Hawley (Mo.)
Mike Lee (Utah)
Cynthia Lummis (Wyo.)
Roger Marshall (Kan.)
Tommy Tuberville (Ala.)
