Dunn’s River Falls Regains Life After COVID-19 Closure

The world-renowned Dunn’s River Falls and theme park in Ocho Rios, St. Ann, has seen an increase in the arrival of visitors since its reopening to the public.

The popular tourist attraction was closed over a four-months due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Park Manager Michelle Sawyers commended her team for the work they had put in during the period of closure so that facility could be in a state of readiness in the opening phase.

“Even while we were closed back in March, we had to have some of our workers here on location to keep the park in a state of readiness, knowing that at some point we would be called on to reopen. It was a lot of work… and for that I must commend the team here at Dunn’s River; it was a total team effort,” she said in a press report.

Ms. Sawyers pointed out that all health and safety checks are in place based on the Ministry of Health and Wellness-mandate.

Meanwhile, Senior Strategist and Adviser in the Ministry of Tourism, Delano Seiveright, noted that the Ministry is proud of the seamless resumption of Dunn’s River Falls’ operations.

He stated that it sends a “powerful signal” to the market that Jamaica is open for business.
