Delta Air Lines has completed its purchase of a 20% stake in LATAM, culminating in an aviation 2019 deal.

LATAM is a member of Oneworld and an associate of Delta’s arch-rival, American Airlines.

The deal is putting that relationship in jeopardy.

The Delta/LATAM deal was part of a wider strategy by Delta Air Lines to make equity investments in key airlines around the world.
