Jamaica on Saturday recorded 551 new COVID-19 infections and 17 more deaths from the virus.

A total of 1388 people have now died from the disease.

The Ministry of Health & Wellness said the positivity rate from Saturday’s tests is 44.1 percent.

There are 573 patients in hospitals.

Among them, 82 are classified as severely ill and 56 critically ill.
