Windies opening batting legend 41-year-old Chris Gayle, is reported as hospitalized based on food poisoning in UAE.
Gayle posted a picture of himself in a hospital bed on his Instagram page on Saturday.
Sporting cucumber slices over his eyes, and a carrot strip in the mouth with a phone in hand, the “Universe Boss” appears to be in an upbeat mood while lying in bed.
“I can tell you this!!! I will never go down without a fight. I am the #UniverseBoss – that will never change…Thanks for all your concern, peeps, much appreciated,” he posted.
Gayle is yet to make his debut this IPL season, which got underway over two weeks ago.
Meanwhile, his team Kings XI Punjab continues to struggle in the competition, losing several games on the trot, winning only one game, and is placed at the bottom of the 2020 IPL standings.
Last week, coach Anil Kumble remarked that Gayle was slated to make his appearance against SRH but was omitted as he was sick.
“Chris Gayle was going to play today’s match, but he is sick. He is down with food poisoning; that’s why he isn’t in playing eleven,” Kumble told commentators during the game.
