An explosive half-century from man-of-the-match Johnson Charles powered the St Lucia Kings to a narrow 2-wicket win over Jamaica Tallawahs, with one ball remaining, in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) on Wednesday.
Chasing a target of 163 for 8, Charles hammered four 4s and four 6s in a crucial 62 from 39 balls, which guided the Kings’ effort from the top of the order.
Along the way, the opener featured in a steadying 36-run partnership with Tim David, which did much to get the team back on track after a middle-order collapse that saw the team lose three wickets for 8 runs.
