It is reported that Blackberry will close out on the design of smartphones in-house and has set a time frame of 14 years.
The once trailblazing smartphone company has fallen on hard times over the past few years and has found it difficult to compete with other pacesetters such as Apple and Samsung.
In May, John Chen, the company’s chief executive, said he would know by September whether the hardware business was likely to become profitable.
Now, Blackberry says it will outsource hardware development to partners.
