Bermuda’s Director of the Molecular Diagnostic and Research Laboratory, Dr. Carika Weldon, has resigned.
This move comes on the back of charges by Dr. Weldon that the government has failed to adhere to her advice amid active COVID-19 cases that have soared to more than 1000.
Dr. Weldon reportedly said that the David Burt-led government has failed to heed her advice during the build-up to the latest outbreak.
She had warned against children returning to school this week.
Dr. Waldron also complained that the team was flooded with more than 3,500 test samples daily.
