Jamaica and West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell is back in the mix of play locally. He not only showed up to play for his club St Catherine Cricket Club in the JCA 50 over competition on Saturday but also created an impact on the game by taking 3-13, thus helping his team to a five-wicket win over Melbourne.
However, Russell is a troubled man as he awaits the decision of the anti-doping disciplinary panel which is expected to pass their verdict regarding his whereabouts rule violation next Tuesday.
Russell said in a press report that “Tuesday will decide my destiny if I can continue or if I am going to be out of cricket for a while but I’m just hoping and praying to God that everything goes well.”
The much sought after Windies all-rounder is scheduled to play next in the Pakistan Super League, depending on the outcome of the hearing.
Russell who sustained a hamstring injury while playing for the Sydney Thunder in the Australian Big Bash League was forced to return home earlier than he anticipated.
