According to press reports, all West Indian players in the IPL have returned to the Caribbean except for Jamaican Chris “Universe Boss” Gayle.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) CEO Johnny Grave reportedly said, “all of our players are now safely back in the Caribbean apart from Chris Gayle who has decided to travel back at a later date”
Gayle shared a video on Instagram, in which the Windies and Punjab Kings batter can be seen enjoying a king size lobster burger. “Breaking News: This is the biggest burger the UniverseBoss ever had! #JumboLobsterBurger,” the West Indies international captioned the video.
Gayle decided to spend time in Maldives before he heads home.
There were nine West Indies players involved in this season’s IPL with Andre Russell and Fabian Allen being the other Jamaicans alongside Gayle.
The IPL was suspended on Tuesday following positive Covid-19 cases within the bubble, including players and non-playing staff members.
