5 Reasons Conservatives Love Donald Trump

Donald Trump, over the years, has shifted political affiliations from the Democratic, Reform, and Independent Party to now representing the Republican Party as President of the U.S.

That said, his current position did not come easily. He had to withstand and overcome opposition from Party members who not only viewed him as an imposter but also one who would cause irrevocable damage to the Republican Party.

However, today, Trump is loved, admired, and dubbed a “different kind of President,” by Conservatives.

Here are 5 reasons:

  1. Christian Community Outreach

Donald Trump has outwardly courted members of the Christian community, more so, than many other Presidents.

On the Presidential campaign stump, Trump promised that if he got to the White House, he would restore conservative Christian values.

“So let me say this right up front: A Trump administration, our Christian heritage will be cherished, protected, defended, like you’ve never seen before. Believe me. I believe it. And you believe it. And you know it. You know it,” uttered Trump, prior to receiving 80 percent of white evangelicals votes in the election.

He later underscored his courtship of Christian by saying, “With Trump as your president, we are going to be celebrating Merry Christmas again, and it’s going to be done with a big, beautiful tax cut.”

Trump’s pitch, has won and gained the confidence not only of Evangelicals but also other Christian sympathizers.

  1. Anti Obama Policies

Trump’s anti-Obama policies are now well established.

Since assuming office, he has rolled back a wide range of policies set in place by Obama. Some of these include areas such as health care, immigration, worker and consumer safety, labor and finance, and the environment.

  1. New Economic Policies

Trump’s economic policies of trade protection, corporate tax reform, and the dismantling of Dodd-Frank, among others, have found favor with conservatives and especially given the fact there is now a decline in unemployment and an economy experiencing last quarter GDP economic growth of 4.1%.

  1. Political Incorrectness

Trump’s shake-up of the social order locally and internationally has appealed to some conservatives. His abrasiveness and unwillingness to accept the norms of civility in public discourse has gained him the title, “a different kind of President.”

  1. Foreign Policy

Part of Trump administration’s foreign policy includes a focus on security, by fighting terrorists abroad and strengthening border defenses and immigration controls, expansion of the U.S. military and an “America First” trade policy.

He has recently escalated trade war with China, charging that that country is taking advantage of the U.S. in trade.

“We can’t continue to allow China to rape our country,” Trump has repeatedly said.

There is no doubt that Trump has given the Republican Party a different voice and they are imbibing on his offering in policies and daily utterances.

The Conservatives love of Donald Trump may be summed up thus:

“I’m grateful for the president for giving us this opportunity to get the country on the right track,” said Paul Ryan at a press conference marking his departure from office. “The fact that he gave us the ability to get this stuff done makes me proud of the accomplishments that I’ve been a contributor to. It makes me satisfied that I’ve made a big difference and he’s given us that chance, and I’m grateful to him for that, and that’s really how I see it.”
