Scorpions’ Rovman Powell Smashes Sixes On His Way To Century Knock In Trial Match

Jamaica and West Indies batsman Rovman Powell was in a smashing form as he blazed his way to a century in Scorpions practice match on Wednesday.

The no-nonsense batsman hit 121 from 79 deliveries as Chadwick Walton’s X1 defeated Nikita Miller’s X1 by 102 runs in the Jamaica Scorpions third practice match at Sabina Park.

Powell, batting in an aggressive mood had the bowlers in a tizzy as the newly found batting star hit 14 sixes and 4 fours as his Walton’s X1 team posted 271 all out off 46.4 overs in their first turn at the wicket.

West Indies batsman, Jermaine Blackwood was also among the runs scoring 47.

Miller’s X1 could only manage 169 off 48.1 overs in their reply.

Andre McCarthy was the only standout in the batting department with a highest score of 36 against 4-28 from Gavon Brown.

The fourth practice match will be played on Thursday at Kensington Park.
